Have a question, might as well make it a general thread.

Question:

Is it possible a open source and proprietary license? Any examples?

Also unrelated: please change the boards theme to blue; this one suggests NSFW.

(Post didn't go so resending, excuse me if maybe it's a double post.)

I'm considering overhauling my entire infrastructure and I'd like some advice. I'm Australian and this is on the back of recent discussions to consider ecchi anime involving children (aka, nearly all anime) child pornography, in addition to the regular illegality of piracy.

I have 14TB of existing TV/movies/anime/etc on my external HDDs. If I get vanned and refuse to give the police the encryption password then I face a 2 year jail sentence just for that.

I'm considering a seedbox for my ongoing downloads but the sheer quantity of existing content would make this very expensive even if I halved it in size by cutting the most easily redownloadable content. Is there a way to write a script for a HDD which would wipe it if it was accessed by unknown device?

3200 is plenty for Ryzen. Also get a fucking SSD, if money is a concern drop the noctua, the 2700X comes with a good cooler, it's enough even for PBO. The only reason to go for a non-stock is for less noise or looks if you're a raging faggot. Also i hope you're not spending any more than 5$ on ebay for a Win10 key.

Consider plausible deniability encryption. You have an outer and an inner container, the inner one being entirely invisible and undetectable. If you're forced to decrypt, you can disclose a password, revealing only the outer container. For usage, you use a different password which decrypts the inner one. The inner one is nothing but empty space when viewed from outside, and in the outer one you place some non-incriminating but plausible files. Veracrypt has this feature for example.

use windows vista, seriosuly don't know why there's a stigma to vista but win 7 was just vista with bloat/more drivers and locked down graphics memory, hence the '6.1' = 7.

Vista home can have ultimate features like having gp editor through some 3rd party app. have less bloat and run at 100mb memory if idle and debloat.

It's xp but not abandonware or 32bit though it is somewhat an abandonware, you could still use it as vm machine, theres firefox and mpv, though seriously I'd just use 8.1 if I wanted games, vista for basic use or some 2hu. anything above is bloat, they just keep on adding shit. Vista was a rewrite of xp, while 7 and above is just vista with more bloat on top of bloat ...

Remember how 'they' manage the herd...fear and distraction. Really, the NSA? Huh!

"NSA finds major security flaw in Windows 10, free fix issued"

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/nsa-finds-major-security-flaw-windows-10-free-68276988

A perfect example how a vulnerability not patched, but a need immediately deployed...something serious comes and a control function needed.

Another CYA while 'they' migrate the herd...dumber you must be, yes?

"NSA Offers Guidance on Mitigating Cloud Flaws"

http://www.darkreading.com/cloud/nsa-offers-guidance-on-mitigating-cloud-flaws/d/d-id/1336871

Did you miss the rest of the story? Now you know why the NSA needed a control function in Windows 10...look into the JEDI cloud (a DoD tracking service), and vaccine mandates (i.e., nano technology). They already control the hard matrix, and will soon control the wetware. D'oh!

"Microsoft snags hotly contested $10 billion defense contract, beating out Amazon"

http://www.cnbc.com/2019/10/25/microsoft-wins-major-defense-cloud-contract-beating-out-amazon.html

Do you see the need for their rapid and final push to migrate the herd onto the cloud (creating their surveillance data beast) and onto Windows 10? It's about the telemetry stupid!

Fuck every major phone OS but especially fuck jewgle and its 'open-source' android, 90% of which is preinstalled bloatware and spyware. Fuck having no possibility to do anything except push pre-existing buttons. Touch-screen devices are the epitome of walled-garden-style computers, their functionality intentionally reduced to a point where even a nigger can buy one and push all the buttons he likes without having to worry about fucking anything up.

I've resigned to the fact that all smartphones are just spyware a long time ago, so I got used to just clenching my teeth like a good goy while jewgle fucked me in the ass with every app I couldn't uninstall and setting I couldn't change.

But enough is enough, so I'm here to open a discussion about phone operating systems, so that others may read it and free themselves from nigger-tier techology.

I'm looking for open-source linux, a bash terminal, and, as much as possible, avoiding any service provided by google nigger-kikes. Looking at ddg hits, articles on recommended OSs all strike me as clueless and written for monkeys, so I'm asking here:

What OS does your smartphone run, how satisfactory is the functionality it offers?

Install LineageOS without gapps and root it. Install AFWall+ (firewall), manage your app at boot and if it isn't enough install Xposed and look for some other cool module.

>bash terminal

You can have it, sure, but honestly a computer is better suited for "productive" stuff, you should use your phone just for simple things like listening to your music or calling people.

>the problem is, google is going full retard with application permissions for their future android models.

Exact opposite. They went full retard when system apps could bypass any android permission and they removed a lot of permissions that used to exist back in nougat.

Most phones get bundled with shop apps, social and Gapps and if they're system app, even without having any permission they have every permission possible and have root level access to storage or network.

One popular social app used to have to scroll 3 screens of permission during install but on other phones of similar android version it would show nothing (package installer compromised).

This is to say the permission thing isn't even followed religiously if the phone uses OEM and not AOSP. Right now, post Oreo/Pie AOSP wouldn't even show every permission it did when trying to install the same app in Nougat. It just means they removed some of the permissions so people don't get scared of that social app that used to show 3 screens of permissions (it shows no permissions required).

>>12931

Unironically this. Use kitkat or jellybean AOSP so you can use xposed framework and use XPrivacy to be able to spoof almost anything and use "bad" apps.

Add:

>Afwall+ with init.d to prevent startup leak if you intend to use bad apps

>Net Monitor - to identify bad "phoning" apps

most of the time your problem would be the kernel still using google DNS or even phoning back something it shouldn't

NEVER use lollipop if you aren't using lineage/cyanogen launchers (trebuche/launcher2) since the default AOSP launcher lollipop up to Nougat have google now/news integration and would record anything you're doing anytime.

Source? Me when it suggested apps/ads that is relevant to what I had been doing (at one point I tried to say "I really need X right now" and got the ad about it). Creepy.Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

This thread is useful for any privacy enthusiasts although it is especially useful for users who are practically unable to avoid certain abusive services.

Discussion topics include:

>known adversaries, their methods and how their clients abuse data

>useful misdirection techniques (faking interests, abusing youtube autoplay, low-cost random purchases)

>potential goals (faking perfect health[for insurance benefits], faking living situation, self-entertainment)

>how to find proof of success (mistargeted ad offers, GDPR data downloads listing ad interests[are they reliable?])

Here are the techniques I use, loosely inspired by Michael Bazzell:

> E-mail isolation (different emails for each service)

< Register an email account at Protonmail, Tutanota, CTemplar or Danwin1210

< Register an email forwarding account on AnonAddy or 33mail

> Usernames

< Use a completely different one for each community you visit, and don't post information that can bridge the gaps between your identities (the minor details make a huge difference)

< Use a very generic dictionary word whenever possible to register accounts. This will make it harder for people to find accounts tied to you (e.g: google, duckduckgo, sherlock) unless you make a lot of noise online.

> Passwords

< Get a password manager. People can search data breaches for unique passwords which can leak your "true" identity.

> Browsing

< Firefox (clearing everything on exit, add ublock origin, https everywhere, cookie autodelete, container tabs)

< Tor Browser (recommended alternative, much better for most cases)

< VPN (only to hide your IP address if you're browsing outside of Tor)

> Hiding information or misinformation?

< Depends on your threat model, but I'd say a mix of both works well.

now op, the list is not exhaustive, but it covers the needs of alot of people. the best way to avoid getting doxed is to be as boring and forgettable as possible.

do some research and you'll find lots of resources.

When I plug Super Mario Bros. in my Famicom it starts right up, no updates, ads, decryption needed. And it will always work. Silly modern consoles are annoying and evil.

It's a damn shame, really. There are some alright AAA games but so much cancer feasting on it. What can be done?

Kuroba is adding 8kun support in a week or two. It's already coded they just need to test it.

everyone seems to be shilling either duckduckgo or startpage, but nobody really pays attention to searx. it's an open source metasearch engine which you can host yourself or use with a public instance.

>scientists find that doing something like V(paris)-V(france)+V(Italy) is very close to V(rome), and V(king)-V(man)+V(woman) is very close to V(queen)...

Probably not totally different from what google does under the hood, but to be able to be explicit about it could be killer. Imagine being able to categorize "normienigger" content so that when you want to know about some political topic you're not bombarded with retard gibberish from buzzfeed and its ilk. Use -(V)normie to filter out social media, or -(V)soy to filter out pop culture— not necessarily all of it, but the obvious prolefeed. Imagine having a way to tell youtube "I need videos about V('puters n' sheeeeit) but don't want any V(streetshitters) speaking their unintelligible patois." Imagine google image search, except not subverted to work incorrectly.

Imagine being the dude who returned truth and beauty to the internet, just by offering a service that isn't fucked up or retarded by design.

>I'm proficient in HTML/JS

From what I see you can do just about anything with JS these days. There's bound to be a Tensorflow for it, or a translation layer to python.

SearX is a meme, if you use a public instance you're trusting a random person, if you host your own instance then it's the same as searching google directly from an IP you own, just use duckduckgo, if you don't trust them then use their .onion service so they can't track you even if they wanted to

searx allows searching from multiple search engines simultaneously and gets rid of the tracking urls search engines typically bundle. if you selfhost on a vps and share it with multiple people, you get to blend the traffic with others and avoid using your home ip. searx fits perfectly the threat model for average joe.
